1. Not a U.S. citizen
An undocumented alien may only receive Medical Assistance to cover an emergency.

There are several categories of Medical Assistance (also called Medicaid) eligibility, each with different income requirements. The different categories of Medical Assistance have different resource requirements. NOTE: For health care, resources are not counted if you meet one of these exceptions: pregnant; child under age 21; have a dependent child under 21 living with you; you do not have a disability and are under age 65.
